About the PrESENTATION
Shotcrete is the preferred process in the construction of many new structures from foundations up to domes and everything in between. The numerous advantages of the shotcrete process are Formwork savings over conventional form and pour, Formwork does not have to be designed for internal pressures, Complex shapes require very little, if any, formwork, Crane and other equipment savings or elimination, Labor savings, New construction speed savings, Better bonding to the substrate, which enhances durability. Adaptability to repair surfaces that are not cost-effective with other processes; and the Ability to access restricted space and difficult-to-reach areas, including overhead and underground. Depending on the application, shotcrete can eliminate 2–sided form construction or 1–sided forms against existing CMU, URM or CIP walls. Shotcrete is the CIP concrete alternative.
Some recent notable projects include below grade wall at Hudson Yards, New York, World Trade Center, New York, the Alameda Corridor, Los Angeles; East Side Access Project, New York; Caldecott Tunnel, CA; High Speed Rail, CA to name a few.
