This course, developed by teh New Jersey Chapter, will provide the engineer, contractor & concrete producer and understanding of the latest in concrete techonology & knowledge to make the appropriate decisions in the field, including troubleshooting. In addition, it provides upon successful completion of the course & exams, certification by the New Jersey Chapter that the candidate understnads the basics in concrete technology & meets the certification requirements of the NJ DOT & the Port Authority of NY & NJ.

• From the basics of concrete mix designs to developing concrete mixes to produce more workable & job specific mixes.

• Learn the latest about concrete admixtures & when & how to properly use them.

• Mix designs that have been successfully used. How to properly place, finish & cure this concrete.

• How to successfully place concrete in hot & cold weather with good results. Mix designs, batching, curing procedures, & testing to meet these conditions.

• Common concrete construction problems will be discussed. What causes these problems, how to prevent them & corrective action to be taken when they occur.

• The common sense eseentials to a successful concrete project such as: pre-construction meeting, ordering concrete, etc.
